Scheduling
Appointments are generally scheduled between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on a consistent weekday.
I will work with your family to figure out a regular routine that makes sense. Following the initial evaluation, appointments are typically 45-50 minutes once per week at a time we agree on, although some sessions may be longer or more or less frequent.
My schedule for seeing clients closely follows the academic year (September through May) with its regular holiday breaks, with more flexible and limited availability in the summer.
I offer an initial 25-minute phone consultation free of charge to discuss your goals and assess whether we would be a good fit for working together.
To schedule an appointment or consultation, please call me at (512) 201-2995 or email maryellen@westfamilytherapy.com.*
*Please do not send confidential or sensitive information via e-mail, as it is not considered a secure form of communication and privacy cannot be guaranteed.
Fees
Base Fee Structure: Individual and Family sessions (45-50 min.) are $200.
Once an appointment is scheduled, you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide at least 24 hours advance notice of cancellation.
Fees for additional services (e.g., school visits, consultations, letters) can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. Clients pay via a securely vaulted credit card on file, which is charged following each session. Most HSA and Flexible spending cards are accepted.
I am considered a private pay, out-of-network provider and do not file directly with insurance companies. Upon request, I can provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. If you plan to submit for reimbursement, please check with your insurance company ahead of time regarding your coverage, benefits and deductibles.
Good FAith Estimate
Under the 2022 No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate and the bill.

(To estimate expected costs - at $200 per session, and one session per week - 6 sessions in 6 weeks would cost $1200; 12 sessions over a period of 3 months would cost $2400. )
